Avid snowmobilers and newcomers alike are preparing for an annual event very dear to their hearts. Georgetown Lake is the place to be on Saturday, December 31st, as the Anaconda Snowmobile Club prepares for its annual Fun Run at 7 Gables (150 Southern Cross Road west of Anaconda). Registration for the Fun Run happens from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and all riders must return by 4:30 p.m., as drawings will begin at that time. The cost is only $5 per hand, and prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place participants. Door prizes and a raffle will also be part of the excitement!

The Anaconda Snowmobile Club has been going strong for decades. From the many events they plan throughout the year and their dedication to the community, it is evident that they will continue to lead the way for years to come. From the first glimpse of their Facebook page, you can tell club members are a group of individuals that respect the land, their fellow riders, and the sport at hand.

The complete picture of why snowmobile clubs are important is sometimes overlooked. Yes, part of it is about enjoying Montana's gorgeous landscape while riding, but as illustrated by Snow Goers and Riders online, there's far more to it. For example, snowmobile clubs help to gain land access to create snowmobile trails and, for safety measures, provide signs along trails. Plus, in some instances, clubs allocate groomers to maintain trails. Snowmobile Clubs have also been beneficial in sponsoring and promoting businesses, plus they diligently offer and sponsor snowmobile safety training for adults and children.
