Once the hoist house of the proud Belmont Mine, the Belmont Senior Center for years has been known as a hub of activity for senior citizens in Southwest Montana. Services, socialization and assistance are provided to anyone 55 years of age or older as there are no memberships. And some of the services they are providing are not only helpful but incredibly affordable.

If you've considered attending a "paint party/paint & sip event" or have already "been there, done that," then more power to you. Such gatherings are a great way to socialize with friends and meet new ones while enjoying your favorite beverages and appetizers. Drinking or being an artist is not required, but simply putting your paintbrush to the canvas and enjoying yourself is. Acrylic paints are the usual choice at paint parties. Plus, other materials used to paint are ceramics, wood panels, wine glasses, and mugs.

Get ready for a Gunslinger Gulch specialty coming up April 21st through the 23rd! Originally the 1880s Ranch, this nostalgic ghost town on the west end of Anaconda is set to host a real "Who Dunnit" Murder Mystery Weekend for the fun and fear of it! Roaring 20s is the theme for this gaspingly good time, with a Pre-Murder Mingle on Friday night (April 21st) equipped with happy hour and a dance party under the stars. In addition, a Murder Mystery barbeque dinner will take place on Saturday night (April 22nd). A continental breakfast buffet will be served to all suspected murder mystery guests on Saturday and Sunday.
Just yesterday, I posted an article about the fate of the World Museum of Mining's Opening Day. The original plan was for organizers to unveil another awe-inspiring season of Butte's nostalgia to the public beginning April 1st! Well, just announced this afternoon some of that plan remains in place, but with a few twists and turns. While the museum gift shop and some underground tours will still open on the FIRST of next month, the museum grounds will NOT open until April 20th. Well, that's as long as winter doesn't overstay its welcome as much as it already has. Unprecedented amounts of snow on the premise led to the decision not to open the outside area of the museum as initially planned.
The Mother Lode Theater is hosting an event this Thursday that will be of interest to area outdoor enthusiasts. The Fly-Fishing Film Tour will be hitting the Mining City with things getting underway at 7pm.
Since its humble, yet trail blazing beginnings in 1937, people throughout North America have been instrumental in recognizing the importance of Ducks Unlimited. In Montana alone, several events are held annually to raise awareness of waterfowl habitat. Most recently, Helena hosted their Ducks Unlimited Banquet, and now organizers in Anaconda are set to do the same on April 1st at the Anaconda Elks Lodge (223 Main) beginning at 5 p.m.
