Orediggers Almos, Alexander garner All-American honors

FARGO, ND.- The Victory Sports Network has released it’s 2023 NAIA Football All-American Team and Individual Awards for the season. Two Orediggers have made the cut, Redshirt Sophomore Andrew Almos as an Honorable Mention Punter, as well as Junior Wyatt Alexander, who was named Third Team All-American at receiver.
Wyatt was nearly unstoppable all season long. In seven of his eleven games on the season, he had over 100 yards receiving. His high-water mark was 143 yards on the road at Southern Oregon. He averaged 100.8 yards receiving a game, which was good for second in the Frontier Conference, and fifth in the entire NAIA.
His deep-threat capability affected every game he played this year. In eight of his eleven games, he had a reception of over 30 yards. Beyond that, he had two receptions of 40+ (42 at Central Washington, and 47 against College of Idaho. He had a 56-yard reception at SOU, a 62-yarder against Carroll, and and an 80-yard strike against Rocky.
Wyatt finished 2023 with 53 catches, good for 1109 yards, and nine touchdowns. His 1,109 yards receiving is second all-time at Montana Tech, behind Lorenzo Snyder’s 1997 season total of 1,239. His nine receiving touchdowns in a season puts him in a tie for fourth all-time.
