Montana has recently seen a huge, impressive rise in a lot of different departments, but sports is going for number one.

The Montana Tech Mens Basketball team have picked up an impressive, Montana-grown big man in their quest for a fourth consecutive Frontier Conference Title in Rhett Reynolds who has spent the past 2 seasons at the University of Montana.

Montana Tech Athletics and the Digger Athletic Association is seeking nominations for the Oredigger Hall of Fame. Montana Tech honors a new hall of fame class each year and continually accepts nominations to expand the pool of candidates. Voting for the Hall of Fame Class will take place after April 1st and announced soon after.

The Frontier Conference announces that 175 student-athletes from the four conference winter sports have been named Academic All-Conference presented by Logan Health and Billings Clinic. Of those 175 student-athletes, Montana Tech accounted for 49.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its three men's basketball All-America teams Monday, just days after the conclusion of the 86th annual NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship. Montana Tech's Asa Williams was named to the Third Team.

Montana Tech Football has released the 2024 schedule, and the season will start with a bang.

Butte is not known for its crime, though crime rates here have reached 47 violent crime offenders per 1000 residents, putting it well above the national average of 38 per 1000. Point is, no place is absolved from crime. Case in point: on March 20th, 2024, a high-level employee at Butte's Montana Tech was taken into custody.

Break out the portable grills and blow the dust off of those cornhole boards and join the fun at the Montana Tech Alumni Association's tailgate party which is scheduled to start at 4:30pm in front of the new Student Success Center which is directly across from the HPER complex. This will be a great chance to enjoy the Spring weather and enjoy some camaraderie with other like-minded Oredigger fans before their biggest game of the season thus far.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that the Orediggers of Montana Tech would be one of the 16 host sites where the first and second-round games of the National Championship, presented by Ballogy, would be played. Montana Tech also hosted first and second-round games a year ago, the first time in school history. The Orediggers are the No. 3 seed in the Naismith Quadrant and will play the 14th seed Pioneers from Wayland Baptist. The other matchup in Butte has the 11th-seeded Warriors of Lewis Clark State taking on the 6-seed Hope International (California).

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the teams for the 2024 NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship First & Second Rounds presented by Ballogy. Montana Tech is ranked No. 3 in the Naismith Quadrant of the 64-team field. The other teams coming to Butte next week are No. 6 Hope International (Calif.), No. 11 Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), and No. 14 Wayland Baptist (Texas).
