The 29th Annual Beartooth Rally and Iron Horse Rodeo is scheduled for July 13-16th in Red Lodge Montana.

This is the largest motorcycle rally in the state of Montana and is home to the ONLY Iron Horse Rodeo in the state. There will be poker walks, several poker runs, stunt shows, live music, vendors, and more.

The crowning jewel of this rally is the poker run on the Beartooth Highway. The Beartooth is considered by many, the best, and most beautiful drive in America. The Beartooth is a section of U.S. Route 212 between Red Lodge and Cooke City.  The highway is characterized by steep switchbacks and significant elevation changes. The road gains over 5,700 feet of elevation, in a twelve-mile stretch. It reaches max elevation in Wyoming, at 10,947 feet.  (The Beartooth pass opened officially this year on May 26, 2023.)

The poker run over the Beartooth is one of several poker runs over the rally. There will be a run that loops through surrounding Montana towns and rolling hills at the base of the Beartooth Mountains, and there will also be a Poker Walk that will take place in downtown Red Lodge and allow you to explore the town.

The Beartooth Rally is about more than the Iron Horse Rodeo and motorcycles, over the last four years the Rally has given to numerous charitable organizations. To the tune of $49,477! Proceeds from the Beartooth Pass Poker Run have been donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County. Enabling all young people to reach their full potential. Over the last four rallies, $25,980 has been donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County. Other groups that have benefitted include Operation Second Chance, St. Vincent’s Healthcare Foundation’s NICU Program, as well as the local Hellroaring Skate Park.

The largest motorcycle rally in the state of Montana does an awful lot of good for Red Lodge, and the state of Montana. You can learn more about the rally on their website HERE.

If you have never been over the pass here is a video that gives you a pretty good look. But NOTHING compares to the real thing, especially on a bike. (might want to mute the audio it's a bit.... weird)
