Oredigger Hoops to wrap up long road stretch this weekend
The third of three consecutive weekends on the road is this weekend for the Montana Tech Orediggers men's and women's basketball teams as the 13th-ranked women and 20th-ranked men head to Helena and Billings over the next couple of evenings.
FRIDAY - AT CARROLL COLLEGE
The Oredigger women come into Friday evening's contest with a 16-2 mark overall, 12-2 in the Frontier while the Saints are 14-6 overall and also 12-2 in league play. The Orediggers beat the Saints 69-62 on December 6th in Butte and Friday's rematch will start at 5pm.
The men's contest, scheduled for a 7pm tipoff is a rematch of Carroll's narrow 95-93 win over the Diggs in early December and should be another dandy. The Orediggers are 16-4 overall, 10-4 in the Frontier while the Saints come into the game with an overall mark of 13-6 and 11-3 in conference play.
SATURDAY - AT ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE
Saturday's pairings against Rocky Mountain College should be equally as entertaining as the women tip off again at 5pm followed by the men at 7pm. The Rocky women are ranked #23 in the nation and are looking to avenge a December 5th loss to the Orediggers who were better by three points. The Battlin' Bears are 13-7 overall, 10-4 in the Frontier.
The Oredigger men again will have revenge on their minds as Rocky got the better of the Diggs 81-70 in Butte on December 5th. The Rocky men, also ranked #23 in the nation, are 17-3 overall and 12-2 in the Frontier.
Montana Tech will return home next weekend hosting Dickinson State on Friday, February 6th and Bismarck State on Saturday, February 7th.
