Montana Tech Celebrates Homecoming Weekend

Football and volleyball will take center stage this week as the Montana Tech Orediggers head into Homecoming Weekend.  Here is a look at who's coming to town and what times the games start on campus.

VOLLEYBALL

The Oredigger volleyball team will be getting the weekend sports activity underway on Friday at 6pm as they host the Valley City State Vikings at Kelvin Sampson Court.  Valley City State is 6-12 overall with a 4-7 mark in Frontier Conference play.  On Saturday the Orediggers will host the Mayville State Comets with the first serve set for 5pm.  The Comets are 1-15 overall and 1-10 in league play.

Montana Tech is coming off a disappointing 5-set loss to Montana-Western in Dillon on Wednesday.  The Orediggers are 14-4 overall with a 9-3 record in the Frontier Conference.  Montana Tech is receiving votes in the latest NAIA coaches' poll.  Tickets to both matches are available at godiggers.com.

FOOTBALL

After last weekend's thrilling win on the road over Dakota State, the sixth-ranked Oredogger football team returns home to Bob Green Field at Alumni Coliseum to face the MSU-Northern Lights at 1pm on Saturday.  The Diggs had to rally for last week's 33-21 win but hopefully that will not be the case again as the Lights are winless in their first five games of the season.  Gates open at noon and tickets are available in advance at godiggers.com.
