With the holiday break now in the rearview mirror, Butte sports enthusiasts will be happy to see a full schedule of local sports and activities from Butte High, Butte Central and Montana Tech teams.

WRESTLING

First back are the Butte High Boys and Girls wrestling teams who are in action tonight with a dual meet against Helena High School.  JV boys get underway at 5pm at Butte High School with the boys and girls varsity competing at 6pm.  The Bulldog Girls will get little rest before seeing action again tomorrow in Deer Lodge at 6pm and then heading to Bozeman for the LeProwse meet hosted by Gallatin High School with action starting at 11am on Friday and 10am on Saturday.  The Boys varsity will follow the same schedule with the addition of the boys JV team to the mix Saturday at 10am.  The Butte Central boys varsity will also be in action Friday and Saturday in Bozeman.

SWIMMING

The Butte High Swim team will host the Butte Invitational this Saturday starting at 12pm.

SPEECH AND DEBATE.

Butte Central's Speech and Debate team will be heading to the Bitterroot Valley for the Corvallis Meet starting at 1pm on Friday and resuming at 8am on Saturday.

BASKETBALL

The first home basketball games of the week will be this Thursday as the Butte Central girls will be hosting Park High School, 7:15 at the Maroon Activities Center.  The boys will also be in action Thursday, but on the road for a 7pm tilt at Park High School.  Thursday is also the long-awaited rematch of last year's Frontier Conference Championship Game between the Montana Tech and Carroll College Men which will be played at 7pm at the Montana Tech HPER, right after the Womens contest at 5pm.  You may remember graduated senior Drew Huse hitting a three pointer at the buzzer to give the Orediggers the title in Helena.  You can bet that Carroll sure does.  The Orediggers will have another key Frontier Conference date on Saturday against the University of Providence out of Great Falls.  Again in those contests, the women get underway at 5pm with the men slated for a 7pm tipoff.  Saturday will be a huge day for the Butte Central Maroon boys who will be hosting the undefeated Frenchtown Broncs at 4pm at the Maroon Activities Center.  The BC girls will also get a shot at Frenchtown, in Frenchtown Saturday, also at 4pm.  The Butte High Boys will be at home Friday at 6pm to take on Glacier High in Ross Richardson Gym and again at 4pm Saturday to face Kalispell-Flathead.  Butte's girls team will be on the road at Glacier, 6pm on Friday and at Flathead at 4pm on Saturday.
