VFD Fundraiser Breakfast this Sunday at Butte Elks
Recently an arson fire was started in front of a home late at night a few houses down from where I live and let me tell you this is a very frightening thing to witness. I don't think a lot of us realize the destruction that a fire can wreak on a structure and, more importantly, how quickly fire spreads. It's not minutes, but seconds before entire rooms are consumed and flames jump into the sky. In this particular fire, the first responders on the scene were members of our local Volunteer Fire Departments and watching these brave individuals jump into action is truly impressive. When the fire is only a few yards from your home, their action is nothing less than a prayer being answered.
Butte has several hard-working Volunteer Fire Departments, ready to answer the call at a moment's notice, night or day, rain or shine. They do this for the safety and benefit of our community, and they are vital to our safety and well-being. We have the Big Butte VFD. The Racetrack VFD. Centerville, Floral Park and Home Atherton. There's Terra Verde, Melrose, Walkerville, Little Basin Creek and Boulevard. Thank you to each and every one of them.
Show your appreciation and support for our local Volunteer Fire Departments at a fundraiser breakfast at the Butte Elks Lodge #240 at 206 W. Galena this Sunday. The breakfast will run from 8am until noon and is ten dollars per plate. Bring your friends and family and show your support for our local Volunteer Fire Departments.
