“Rhythm and Brews” at Original Mineyard this Saturday to feature something for everyone
If tradition holds and plans hold up, Saturday's "Rhythm and Brews" Festival at the Original Mine Yard will have something for everyone. Not only is this the biggest fundraiser of the year for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butte, but it is an opportunity for car enthusiasts and music lovers alike to come together to enjoy some great local music and cold beer from some of the area's finest microbreweries. In addition, some of the area's best food trucks will be on site and a list of activities and games have been planned for the kids as well as musical performances from John Montoya, The Berkeley Pits, High Ore Road and F.O.G.
Rhythm and Brews has been steadily growing over the years and according to director Laci Peck Ridder this year's menu of microbrews is impressive. "Just about every brewery you can think of," she told us. "Of course we have Butte (Brewing Company) and Quarry (Brewing) from here in Butte but we will also have beer from Kettlehouse, Philipsburg, Western Cider, we'll have some Ranch Hand. We also have Bitteroot coming with some of their huckleberry beer," she told us happily. As far as the food trucks, you can expect Big Hole Pizza, Rockin' MT and Extra Sprinkles and the Butte High History Club is also expected to have a truck serving brats, dogs and burgers.
The car show, proudly sponsored this year by Butte Auto, will get underway with registration starting at 10am and the gates will open at noon with free admission. Ridder told us that the kids will be able to look forward to the foam machine again this year as well as face painting from 3 to 5 and suncatcher making and bracelet creation throughout the entirety of the event. Pit Fitness will be putting up an obstacle course and Rooted Tribe will have morning yoga sessions going on,
