This week will bring playoff basketball for the Butte High Bulldogs and Butte Central Maroons boys teams but first there is a championship game for the Montana Tech Orediggers women's team on Monday night that Butte sports fans will not want to miss.

MONDAY - MONTANA TECH VS. DAKOTA STATE

Monday at 5pm the Montana Tech and Dakota State women will meet at the Butte Civic Center in the Frontier Conference Tournament Championship Game, the first appearance in the title tilt for the Orediggers since 1983.  During the regular season, the Trojans manhandled the Diggs at home on January 16th, 73-56, but Montana Tech got revenge on their home floor on Valentine's Day by beating Dakota State 78-68.  Montana Tech is 24-4 on the season with an 18-4 mark in the Frontier Conference.  Dakota State is 26-4 overall, 19-3 in league games.

THURSDAY - MISSOULA BIG SKY AT BUTTE HIGH (BOYS)

Ross J. Richardson Memorial Gymnasium on the campus of Butte High School will be the site of a Western AA play-in game as the Bulldog boys host the Missoula Big Sky Eagles at 7pm.  The Bulldogs beat the Eagles on the road on January 27th, 62-54, and got past them last Friday in overtime in a 66-63 thriller at Ross J. Richardson gym.  The winner will advance to the State AA Boys Basketball Tournament March 16-18 at MetraPark Arena in Billings.

THURSDAY - BUTTE CENTRAL VS BROWNING (BOYS)

Hamilton High School is the site of the Western A Divisional Boys Basketball Tournament and in the first round the Butte Central Maroons will face the Browning Indians at 3:30pm.  Butte Central beat Browning 67-55 in their first game of the season at the Frenchtown Tip Off Tournament.
