King Friday set to perform at Thursday’s Music on Main
If the turnout the past several weeks is any indicator, this Thursday night's "Music on Main" event is going to be a big one. Coupled with a favorable forecast and one of Butte's most popular bands and you've got something. Add one of Montana's premiere guitar players to the mix and it adds up to an evening of great music, food and fun that you will want to come early for.
King Friday will be adding a hired gun this Thursday, but not one that is unfamiliar to the band or to music fans anywhere in Southwest Montana as Kevin LaFond will join the current lineup of bassist Marco Kurilich, guitarist John Stenson and his little brother Mark LaFond on drums. Now a member of the Ken Rich Band, Kevin was an original member of King Friday years ago and recently performed with the reunited original group a few weeks ago at the Butte Rock Fest held at the Butte Depot. With LaFond back in the lineup, albeit temporarily, fans can expect a wide-open set from all phases of the band's career along with a few surprises.
King Friday will fire up at 6pm but you may want to arrive early to secure a good place to enjoy the show so remember to bring your lawn chairs. As always, the first 50 kids 12 and under will get a $5 voucher to use at any of the food trucks on hand and all kids can enjoy complimentary Shirley Temples courtesy of NorthWestern Energy. Kids activities are planned as well. Remember, please enjoy the food trucks but please do not bring any outside food, beverages or pets.
