Here in the Mining City, things have definitely changed over the past few decades.  Now, we're still a blue-collar mining town and we may remain a little rough around the edges, but slowly Butte has evolved into a cultural center.  Every summer the Montana Folk Festival brings close to 100,000 people into our Uptown and surrounding areas and every season we can count on the An Ri Ra Montana Irish Festival, St. Patrick's Day celebrations, the Freedom Fest and several other gatherings to bring plenty of folks as well.

Butte's cultural scene is growing and evolving thanks to folks like Matt Boyle, Rob Cox and Demetrius Fassas at the Covellite Theater and promoters like Bill Fisher and Monty Klistoff have gained solid reputations as the people behind some of our areas most successful concerts and cage matches.  There is a laundry list of other people involved in making our community a destination point and that list grows every season.  Are you one of them?

The Butte Tourism Business Improvement District, or TBIF, knows that people who come to events stay in our hotels, motels, inns and properties and that those people also spend plenty of money in our local stores and restaurants.  Are you a person involved with an event that brings people to Butte?  There may be grant money available for your event.  The TBID Grant Cycle for January 2025 is now open to Butte-Silver Bow County entities. Applications can be accessed here and will be accepted through January 31st at 5pm.

There is even help available in writing your grant proposal. Two TBID Grant Writing Trainings will be available to help applicants learn best practices and navigate the new online application process. These trainings will be held at the Butte Chamber of Commerce on Friday, January 24th, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. To RSVP for a training session, please contact Kehli Hazlett at kehlihazlett@buttecvb.com or call (406) 723-3177.
