As a non-profit organization, the Anaconda Adult Learning Center's (AALC) mission has always been to support adult learning and literacy. According to Think Impact online, about 54% of adults in the United States between the ages of 16 and 74 have low literacy proficiency rates. This equivalates to reading capabilities below the sixth-grade level. The AALC is not only instrumental in helping adults improve their reading skills, they also specialize in helping clients learn math, soft skills, and resume writing for FREE. They even provide guidance to out-of-school youth and adults interested in taking their GED and are notorious for helping students prepare for college, their driver's license exams, and new employment opportunities. Under the direction of Board President, Judy Barber, the AALC receives its funding from Anaconda Deer Lodge County and from School District 10.
Alhough, specific requirements must be met before a student can be considered for the program, everyone is encouraged to apply. (AALC contact info below...)
