One of the great things about Southwest Montana is that when an event starts growing, you can count on it to keep growing. Heck, we've turned St. Patrick's Day into a full weekend even during the years it falls on a Tuesday or Wednesday. This year, the Uptown Christmas Stroll gets underway at the Courthouse and while there will be music and dancing in the rotunda, there will be a lot of other choices for you to enjoy tonight. Let's take a look at what's happening musically over the next couple of days in our area.

The Elks Lodge here in Butte at 206 W. Galena will be the site of a fun bingo night and silent auction fundraiser. The doors open at 5pm and admission is $10 which will include 2 bingo packets including 3 cards of 10 games each.

All it takes is a drive through Uptown Butte and it becomes clear that this is a town with history. Rich history. Uptown Butte is a literal historic district, and its history is fascinating. But how well do we know our history? Even with the large number of historic buildings in Uptown Butte, many of us have never seen the inside of many, much less know their history. The B'nai Israel Cultural Center is hoping to change that with the second annual 'Historic Gathering Places Tour" on Saturday, October 21.

With the St. Patrick's Day holiday in the rearview, the Butte Elks Lodge is taking no time off and returns this weekend with a full schedule of events.

As part of their participation in Anaconda's Festival of the Winter Moon, Pintler's Portal Hostel will host their annual Winter Market! The event is open to the public and happens Saturday, January 14th, at the hostel (218 W. Park in Anaconda) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you haven't been to Pintler's Portal Hostel, you're in for a pleasant surprise. The site, once home to the Masonic Lodge, was completely remodeled and refurbished a few years ago to serve as a "boutique" style lodging facility. This European-inspired lodge offers accommodations to travelers interested in discovering the amazing Anaconda-Pintler backcountry or those coming to town for tournaments and family gatherings. Here's a class act way to honor our veterans this week! This Saturday, November 12th, a Veterans' celebration dinner, and dance will take place at the Elks Lodge in Butte. Please show your support for the men and women who have fought for our country, and continue to do so with this honorable gathering. The Marine Corps Reserve will also be on site for their TOYS FOR TOTS Butte Campaign fundraiser. Here's the breakdown: A No-Host Cocktail Hour will begin at 5 p.m., a Flag Ceremony at 6 p.m., Dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by LIVE music at 8 p.m. by JST Us. From there the parade will head west on Granite to Main, then south on Main to Park Street. Bring the family as there will be plenty of colorful displays and costumes to check out!
