The best baseball player to come out of Montana was Dave McNally from Billings.

Dave McNally was born in Billings and had an incredible career with the Billings Royals Legion team. His successful legion career helped him get recruited by the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Baltimore Orioles out of high school. He opted to sign with the Baltimore Orioles, and his career began.

McNally spent two years in the minor league system and reached the major league level when he was 20.

He spent 12 of his 13-year career with the Baltimore Orioles and racked up some impressive statistics. He won 20 games in a season four times, was a three-time All-Star, and won the World Series twice with the Orioles.

He almost won the Cy Young Award three times and was voted into the Orioles Hall Of Fame for his contributions to the team during his career.

Dave McNally sadly passed away at the age of 60 in 2002.

Dave McNally should be an icon to all young baseball players in Montana that you can rise to the major leagues and be successful.
