Best Summer Reads: From The Beach To The Cottage

I am an immense lover of books. My shelves bear the weight of hundreds of novels and I would like to add hundreds more. From fantasy to historical fiction, I am here for it.

The weather is finally giving way to sun and summer vibes, so I wanted to know...what are the best summer reads out there?

Best Reviews Guide put together a top 10 list, and these are all going into my TBR (to be read) pile immediately.

At number ten, we have The Beekeeper's Cottage by Emma Davies, a story of growth and strength after betrayal.

Next up is The Getaway Girls by Dee MacDonald. This story follows a protagonist who decides to leave her ordinary life and pursue one of adventure.

Eight

One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle slides in at number eight. It is a story of a girl seeking comfort after grief. I have read this one, and I honestly do not recommend it. The story is so implausible, it is hard to swallow.

Number seven is The Summer of Broken Rules by K. L. Walther. This novel was inspired by the songs of Taylor Swift and follows a main character processing grief and finding romance. Excuse me while I add to cart...

Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan is in the number six slot. It sounds like this book is about a character that is dissatisfied with a life that she thinks should be making her happy. Pretty relatable for many.

Every Summer After, Carley Fortune's debut novel is a story of redemption and reconciliation, with a smattering of romance. It was named One of the Hottest Reads of Summer 2022 by Today, Parade, PopSugar, USA Today, BuzzFeed, and more.

Rolling in at number four is The Summer Pact: A Novel by Emily Giffin. A group of unlikely friends form a bond over the course of one summer that lasts years until it is threatened by the unexpected.

Three

Number three is Summer Island by Kristin Hannah. This novel follows what sounds like a deadbeat famous mother who gets dragged by her child in a very public way. Hopefully, it includes a path to repentance.

Two

Beach Read by Emily Henry is a classic opposites-attract story following jaded writers forced into close proximity.

One

Last, but certainly not least, we have Summer of '69 by Elin Hilderbrand. If it's as good as the song, you can't go wrong. This novel is a #1 New York Times Bestseller and follows a family beach vacation in Nantucket in the 1960s.

This summer, you'll find me draped in my hammock, reading a number of these suggestions.
