With several mountain ranges across the state, Montana is on many folk's bucket lists of places to visit and live. According to one source, Montana is home to two of the best mountain towns in the country.

Before we reveal which two towns made the list, let's look at the most "Montana" towns in Montana.

Which Montana mountain towns are the most desirable?

Travellers Elixir published a list of the 23 Most Stunning Mountain Towns and two popular Montana locations made the list. Both Big Sky and Whitefish made the list. That won't come as a big surprise to Montanans, as both towns are not only beautiful, but they're also very tourist-friendly.

Big Sky, popular for its world-class skiing is also known for its multi-million dollar homes and condos. Not to mention is also very close to the Yellowstone Club, which is one of the most exclusive "neighborhoods" in the world.

Whitefish is also known for its skiing, however, with the close vicinity to Glacier National Park, Whitefish is a popular destination all year long and has been voted the friendliest town in America.

Of course, several other Montana mountain towns are stunning, but it's probably best we keep those to ourselves.
