Remember when everyone was complaining about all of the folks that were moving here and how Montana was full?

Yeah, yeah...I know that was yesterday, but in all seriousness, it appears that the percentage of folks moving to Montana is dwindling. I don't know why, maybe it's because of the cost of living. Or could it be the cold? Maybe it's the distance between cities and the lack of services, or could it be some of the locals complaining about how they hate newcomers?

Whatever the reason, almost have of Americans live in a state that they weren't born in.

Yep, you read that right. 43 percent of Americans live somewhere other than their birth state. So, what does that mean? Well, it means that Montana isn't alone, it seems that the other 49 states have the same issue. Folks are moving there that aren't from there.

Here's something interesting, the folks at Gourmet Gift Baskets decides to take a look at all 50 states to see which states where the most attractive places to move. For those who are curious about where Montana lands, it's not in the Top 10, nor is it in the Top 20. Big Sky Country comes in 21st place according to the data.

In fact, if you take a look at the Northwest Region, it seems that Montana is ranked the worst state to live according to this. Which is why it's possible that we didn't make the list of the states that keep the people that were born there. (Congrats to Texas that took first place, although is anyone really surprised?)

While I know that some locals will be happy to hear this, it should be noted that folks to get to choose where they're born, but they can choose where they want to live.
