If you're new to Montana, you might find it a bit difficult to deal with some of your neighbors.

Now, let me first say, that it wasn't always this way. A decade or two ago, Montana was a friendly place full of smiles and welcoming faces. However, that's changed over the last several years as folks have flocked to Big Sky Country, and many locals feel like they're losing the vibe that makes Montana special.

Montana is the 4th biggest state in the country as far as landmass goes, however, when it comes to population, we have just over a million people. So, you might thing that there is plenty of space for everyone, right? Well, not according to many locals. In fact, if you ask them, they'll tell you Montana is full.

I bring this up because there is new data from Newser that ranked the cities with the best neighbors and Montana did not make the list.

Is Montana an unfriendly place to live?

Our friends in Idaho made the list as did our friends in Utah. Now, it should be mentioned that population was a factor in this, so it might be that Montana doesn't have a city big enough for consideration, so that is something to consider.

However, is Montana really that unfriendly? When I was a kid, if I was goofing around a couple blocks away from home, the neighbors would could my Mom and boy did I get in trouble when I got home. Is that gone now? Have people decided to not get involved?
