Prewar homes, built between 1890 and 1940, before WWII, were typically built with high ceilings, arched doorways and nickel-plated features.
Butte, or "Butte America", is the heart and sole of Silver Bow County. There are over 5400 prewar homes in Silver Bow County. In the late 1800's, people started flocking to Butte and Silver Bow County due to the discovery of copper, gold, and silver. By the early 1900's, the county's growth was increasing due to the success of mining and the advancing railroad.
Today, Butte is known not only know for it's historic past, but it is also home to the world's oldest Chinese restaurant.
Popular movies and tv shows have been filmed in Butte, such as 1923, a spinoff of the popular series 'Yellowstone', and Father Stu, starring Mark Wahlberg. Home to one of the largest St. Patty's Day parades, Butte is not only beautiful and full of great stories, but it is also affordable.
