Bozeman is known for many things. The mountains, Main Street, the night life, the food, and of course, the Bobcats.

Let's be honest, Bozeman loves the Bobcats. I've lived in a lot of college towns and I've never seen a relationship like this one. Whether it's football, basketball, track, or the arts, folks come out to cheer on the Cats.

There is just something special about all of it. To be at Bobcat Stadium on Game Day. The tailgating, the singing of the anthem, and the horses racing on the field with the rodeo team holding the flags. Of course, then it's the pyrotechnics and the team rushing on the field.

It's a one-of-a kind moment for sure.

It seems that those of us who live in Bozeman aren't the only ones who think it's special. A new poll has come out listing the Top 10 Best Small College Towns and guess which Montana town made it? Butte? No. Helena? No. Missoula? Haha, no.

Which Montana town is the best for sports?

According to the folks at 2adays, a athletic website, the best sports town in Montana is Bozeman. Oh, and it's not just the best sports town in Montana, it's the best sports college town in America.

Yep, best in the country, not too shabby, huh?

Now keep in mind, this is a list for smaller cities, but still. Pretty impressive. Oh, and if you're wondering what towns we beat out to take the top spot, we ranked higher than the following towns:

  • Boone, North Carolina
  • State College, Pennsylvania
  • Walla Walla, Washington
  • Grand Junction, Colorado

Of course, these are just a few of the towns we beat out. But, let's be honest, while it's truly an honor to be ranked 1st in the nation, the real joy is beating Missoula....again.
