Best Places To Take Your Dog In Bozeman This Summer
It’s nice outside, and if you’re a pet owner here in Montana, you’re probably itching to get out and enjoy it with your four-legged friend. We asked our listeners where they love taking their dogs—and the answers didn’t disappoint. From mountain trails to river spots, here are some of the top places Montanans say are pup-approved.
Pine Creek Falls & Lake
Pine Creek comes down out of the Absarokas and runs straight into the Yellowstone River, right in the middle of Paradise Valley. It’s one of the most popular hikes near Livingston—and for good reason. The trail to Pine Creek Falls is an easy 2.5-mile round trip and perfect for dogs. If you’re up for more of a challenge, you can keep going another 4 miles to Pine Creek Lake.
Hyalite Canyon
Hyalite Canyon is one of the most popular outdoor spots in Montana—and it’s easy to see why. Just south of Bozeman, this mountain valley is packed with trails, views, and space to explore. You can hit one of the many trailheads or just hang out with your pup by the reservoir. Either way, it’s a solid day outside with your furry best friend.
Palisades Falls
This 1.1-mile trail sits just south of Hyalite Reservoir and makes for a quick, scenic adventure. It’s a moderate hike that usually takes about 30–35 minutes, depending on your pace. Dogs are welcome, just keep ’em on a leash.

Downtown Bozeman
Bozeman is hands-down one of the most dog-friendly towns in the country. You’ll find water bowls outside shops and treats behind counters—locals love dogs just as much as we do. It’s a place where your pup is truly part of the adventure.
