ABC’s 20/20 To Highlight Murder In Belgrade, Montana.

Just outside of Bozeman is the little town of Belgrade. However, it might not be for long. As people continue to move to the area, Belgrade is growing rapidly; in fact, some suggest it's one of the fastest-growing towns in Montana.

Belgrade is a tight-knit community that is home to small-town values, an international airport, and a murder that will be highlighted on an upcoming national television show.

Back in 2018, Belgrade's Lauren DeWise was murdered, and the number one suspect? Her husband.

Remember, while Montana is large, it isn't in people. With just over a million people in the entire state, a murder in a small town is big news in Big Sky Country.  This isn't the first time the DeWise case has been on national television.

Before we get into the details, let's look at some of the most notorious cases in Montana's history.

What happened in the Lauren Dewise case?

ABC's 20/20 will air the show tonight on live television, and a replay of the program will be available on Hulu starting Saturday, March 15th. Back in 2018, DeWise's estranged husband allegedly broke into her apartment, which she was sharing with two other women.

Joseph Paul DeWise was charged and convicted of shooting two of the women. Ashley Van Hemert and Lauren DeWise.

DeWise would die while Van Hemert would survive. 20/20 will not only interview law enforcement for the latest episode, but they were able to sit down and talk with Ashley Van Hemert as well.

Mr. DeWise was sentenced to over 200 years in Federal Prison, although he denied any wrongdoing at his trial. However, a jury of his peers didn't buy it and took less than 3 hours to find him guilty.

Once again, the show runs tonight on ABC and will be available to stream on Hulu starting tomorrow.
