Montana Tech Men’s Basketball coach Adam Hiatt added even more depth to the Oredigger bench by signing Billings Skyview product Lane Love.

Lane Love wrapped up his Senior campaign as the leading scorer in Class AA, averaging nearly 24 points a game. His season-high output was the final game of the regular season when he dropped 39 against Billings Senior in their gym. During the regular season, he had 5 games where he scored 30+ points, and he was never held to single digits in scoring once.

The Skyview Falcons fought their way into the Class AA State tournament as the 3 seed out of the East and were knocked out of the tournament on Saturday morning, with a loss to the Bozeman Hawks.
Lane was chosen as the Most Outstanding player on offense for the Eastern AA, First Team All-Conference, and All-State.

Lane Love is the second Montana signee so far this young off-season, joining Kalispell Glacier big man Noah Dowler. Dowler was the leading rebounder in Class AA this past season. Noah finished his senior season averaging 8 points and 8 rebounds a game, earning Second Team All-Conference accolades in the Western AA.

The Glacier Wolfpack were one of the few teams that can say they were able to finish their season with a win, as they took 3rd place at the State AA tournament this year with a 53-43 win over Bozeman. For his efforts in the tournament, Noah Dowler was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Montana Tech men’s basketball is coming off a historic season, finishing 29-5 and advancing to the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals for the first time in school history.

The Orediggers will only lose one player to graduation, Bridger Larson. Bridger does have eligibility remaining, but will graduate this spring. My understanding is he will work toward his goal of being an airline pilot.

I’ll guess his flights will not need an air marshal, not many people going to mess with a 6’7”, 240-pound pilot.

Just a guess.
