Over the past few months, meteorologists have proclaimed this year's winter conditions to be the harshest in 20 years. Judging from the past couple of days, the weather seems to be shaping up nicely, but then again, it's Montana, and anything goes, right? Plus, a meteorologist typically knows what they're talking about. So, if you've had more than your share of extreme winter conditions, it may be time to bite the bullet and head somewhere warmer until this all blows over...or for a 3-day excursion, at least. So, why not try these warmer spots on for size? Las Vegas, Nevada; a quick go-to site that offers affordable airfares. Namely, Allegiant's flight out of Missoula, Bozeman, or Billings is reasonable year-round. Although temps usually only reach the mid-60s this time of the year in Vegas, that's still about a 28-degree hike from what we're dealing with right now! Plus, there are great shows to see and games to be played. Just make sure to behave accordingly to the size of your bank account. Set a budget so you don't go home broke but definitely with a tan. Next up, Phoenix, Arizona! Current temps in Phoenix this time of year average around 73 degrees. Via Allegiance, flights are available out of Montana for a reasonable price. Plus, booking early could guarantee a low-cost visit, with more money left over for the desert's best lodging and food options. This next option is my favorite; a trip to sunny California's Tinsel Town and the many attractions surrounding it. Affordable flights to Los Angeles are available directly through preferred airlines or a 3rd party vendor such as Expedia or Priceline. For a 3-night stay, avoid the hassle and cost of renting a car in Cali and go the route of an Uber or Lyft to visit Venice Beach, Disneyland, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and more! Drive time to and from specific destinations ranges from 20 to 45 minutes, but the SoCal experience will be worth it. So go for it; as winter tapers off in Big Sky Country, visit another land nearby that offers far better weather conditions, plus don't forget to book your hotel or Airbnb while still reading this!
