The Montana Tech Digger Auction is tomorrow night at the Great Western HPER!

This is a yearly gathering of the Oredigger faithful to celebrate everything Montana Tech. It is also the major fudraising event of the year for Digger Athletics and Montana Tech student-athletes.

The night will officially get underway as the doors are thrown open at 5 pm. Dinner will be provided, and there will be a couple of different bars set up for adult beverages as well. There will also be a great variety of games to play, with outstanding prizes throughout the gym.

All of that is awesome, necessary in fact. But it isn’t the reason we get excited every year. Every year there are auction items that just blow everyone away, and this year is no exception. I previewed a few of the big ones last week, you can eyeball them HERE. But how about a few more?

How about a signed Gayle Sayers Chicago Bears jersey! Picked 4th overall in the 1965 NFL Draft, Sayers went on to be one of the most dominant running backs in NFL history, even though his career was cut short due to consecutive knee injuries. As a rookie, he racked up 2,272 all-purpose yards, and scored 22 touchdowns. And the rest is history.

Not a Bears fan? Do you prefer a bit more… PRIMETIME?

How about a signed Niners jersey by Primetime himself, Deion Sanders. Sanders played 14 seasons in the NFL, and nine seasons in Major League Baseball. He won two Super Bowls, and made a World Series appearance, the only player ever to appear in both. Coach Prime is widely considered the best cornerback to ever play the game.

Speaking of athletes in the argument for best ever, how about Derek Jeter? We have a baseball signed (and beautifully framed) by the MLB Hall of Famer Derek Jeter. Jeter spent his entire 20-year career in pinstripes and received 396 or 397 possible votes in his first year of eligibility for the MLB Hall of Fame. Jeter is also a 5 time World Series Champion with the New York Yankees.

These are just a few of the collectible items that will be available in the live auction, I haven’t even touched on trips, artwork or hand made furniture. You don’t want to miss out on this night.
