Referred to as "Sully" throughout my youth, I contemplated using it as an "on-air" name. Needless to say this never happened, but it's still fun to mention and there's still time! As a graduate of the University of Montana, I first ventured my way onto the air waves as a television reporter. Not long after, I dove into the radio industry. I enjoy media as a career and the potential it has to inform and support the community. Other than consume comfort food nightly, I do have some hobbies. I'm a huge fan of forensic documentaries, chick flicks and mobster movies (I don't understand the combination, either) Plus, I love concerts! Rock, country, jazz, classical, reggae, alternative, electronic, R&B, hip-hop, rap, folk...pick the genre and I'm there! I especially love outdoor concerts and another great love I have of the outdoors, involves long walks with my incredible dog and the occasional human. For many years now, I have tested the waters as a performer in live, local theatre, and whether it be studio artwork, ballet, jazz or modern dance, I'm a big supporter of the arts. As for sports and no matter the level, I'm a huge fan of basketball, track & field and baseball. Any or all of the above, of course, is only important and possible with the bond of family and friends. Here's to those special bonds for everyone.

Child Safety Seat Clinic in Butte is on the Right Path this Wednesday
Things that seem to be a matter of good common sense sometimes require a refresher course and a mandatory checklist. Child passenger seat safety, for instance, is of great importance and nothing that should ever be taken for granted. The Butte-Silver Bow County Fire Department knows this all too well, and that's why they continually host child/passenger safety seat clinics like the upcoming one scheduled for Wednesday, March 15th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Station No—#1 in Butte (120 South Idaho Street). The clinic will focus on the correct way to use a child safety seat and provide valid information and guidance on ensuring your youngster utilizes the right one for their weight and height.
Family, Friends, Music & Dance; The AOH Ceilidh in Pictures
Events to honor Irish heritage in the area just keep coming, and we haven't even made it to St. Patrick's Day yet! So far, loyal enthusiasts have enjoyed the Shillelagh Shindig at the Carpenter's Union Hall that took place last Friday in Butte, the AOH St. Patrick's Day Race in Anaconda this past Saturday, and yesterday's Ceilidh (celebration of Irish music and friendly gatherings) at the AOH Hall in Anaconda. The latter event was one my family and I had the honor of enjoying! The consensus following our time at Anaconda's AOH Ceilidh yesterday was a a predictable thumbs up! We were in great company with members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians who welcomed us from the get go. At Ceilidh, many in attendance engaged in conversation with family and friends, while enjoying beverages and delicious homemade corned beef with all the trimmings at the "Hall" (Dan Tocher & crew did an immense job! Yum!). Some even had to elbow a few people to get their share of Tipperary squares (white frosted mini cakes rolled in chopped nuts), but other than that it was a friendly outing. Lol! (Continued...)

Here are some tunes of the Irish persuasion to download on any device and add to your playlist. In fact, you may even have the vinyl or cd version of some of the ones listed below. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ceilidh is Gaelic for the "celebration of Irish music and friendly gatherings". This event is sponsored by the AOH and the Ladies' Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Pintler’s Portal Hostel in Pictures; Innovation & Practicality Nestled In Anaconda
Earlier last month, I had the pleasure of visiting Pintler's Portal Hostel, a niche, hidden gem in Anaconda that is captivating travelers worldwide and making its mark in the community. From the moment I arrived at the hostel, the owners, Steve and Marsha Hill, and their granddaughter, Blakely, welcomed me with good vibes and open arms. Not long after, I also met their oldest granddaughter, Desi, an encounter that sealed the deal on just how family-oriented the Hills were. From there, the plan behind my visit involved learning more about this intriguing place that opened its doors to the public in August of 2021. From my encounter with the Hills, it was apparent how much pride they took in their facility. Located in the heart of Anaconda, at 218 West Park Avenue, the beautifully remodeled structure was once home to the Freemasons' Masonic Lodge.
